Updating Pantech SKY Vega models

Hi guys!!

well  i am making an effort to solve the mystery behind updating vega phones firmware in an easy like cake way. first of all i would love to tell you that sky vega is a korean brand and unlike samsung and LG they prefer to keep models specific for koreans but the phone is awesome with a little problem regarding phone firmware update and uninstalling korean apps that is a trouble indeed for many of us who dont know korean or dont live in korea, many of us might have installed custom rom to get rid of the problems like sms limitation but the problem would be the motion sensors or things like that wont work on custom rom and why not using the features for which we have paid for well my point of view was exactly the same until i scoured for a way to update vega phones or remove sms limitations. well i am using Vega A870S so i have tried only on that but insinuated that it would work on other model as well if you follow me. so guys lets get you started.

well FYR this is the phone i am talking about. i am gonna update you step by step about the update.

Download the appropriate drivers for S/W Update and fastboot mode. here is the link just download and before connecting the phone install it, well for dummies i highly recommend using window XP for downgrading or upgrading any mobile firmwares coz many of us are not aware of playing with the securities and sometimes got stuck.

ok now once you have downloaded the appropriate drivers then make sure you have internet explorer 8 or 9 with dot net framework 4 installed. well you can google to download the above things

Now its time to download appropriate rom for your phone.
first of all download inf file

open the file and search your phone model and follow the step

Once downloaded, open it up using Notepad you have already installed and you’ll find that it is a list of firmware files for all the Sky Vega phones. Press “Ctrl + F” and type your desire phone model. For example, if you want to download the firmware of Sky IM-A870S, type that in the find box and you’ll see these details:

Version=S0218210
FileName=IM-A870S_S0218210.BINX

In the details listed above, our concerned part is “FileName” field. Copy it and add it to your download URL which we mentioned above. So now your desired download address will look like this:

download offline rom flasher from the below mentioned link.

What are your must Factory Reset Cook ROM before flash to avoid standing in Logo offline!

+ Turn off the phone, press the 3 key (Power + Volume Up + Volume Down) to select the mode on the screen. Use the Volume Down key to scroll to "PLD DOWNLOAD" and then press the Power button to select it. Your phone will switch to S / W Upgrading. Now, connect your phone to the computer using MicroUSB cable.

You do Offline Update tool has been run previously by others in his or v1.2 or less, please FixServer.exe file before running okay!

+ Running Run_Sky_Server.exe window will appear blue, do not miss this one off during flash offline!
+ windows update web interface of the sky will appear. 
+ Click Upgrade button S / W and wait results offline! In the worst case the driver can not be installed automatically and Button S / W does not appear, then please re-install this driver: http://www.mediafire.com/?lj6diaihmo4arem + After flash is complete blue back window click on it and press any key to litter cleanup program for your self after flash. Any comments please send to hassan.cheema@gmail.com

Step 3
this step is to execute the process. now you have download the rom and download.inf file. 
Unrar the offline flasher and put it anywhere in the computer. put the inf file in the sky home directory inside the offline flasher and copy the downloaded rom that has .BINX extension into the main directory inside the sky offline rom flasher. connect the phone which is in S/W upgrade mode and connect to the pc. and goto the offline flasher and run Run_Sky_Server file, you will see a blue little screen appears along with the internet explorer. now dont worry for the language, just press the main blue button as shown in the image 

and you are all set to upgrade the firmware.

Now if you are successful we will move to the next step of rooting and installing CWM soon
